Spring Fest thank you to volunteers

| May 31, 2013 6:00 AM

Moses Lake's Spring Fest appeared to be a fun-filled event, enjoyed by many, according to articles published in Tuesday's Columbia Basin Herald.

With a variety of activities, the town was able to provide entertainment for families with a carnival and parade, as sports enthusiasts competed in the 3-on-3 basketball tournament, and classic car buffs showed off their rides.

Spring Fest started Thursday and ended Sunday. Performances from the Moses Lake High School choir and band and a salute to the armed forces was also part of the entertainment for the hundreds of people who visited downtown.

For fitness enthusiasts, a 5k fun run and walk, a 10k run, and a triathlon and duathlon were offered.

Such an undertaking requires a behemoth of work, largely on the part of volunteers who must fit the project in with their paying jobs and family responsibilities.

Coordinating so many activities for so many people in a public place is a feat in itself.

We appreciate your efforts in providing a family-friendly and safe event for residents and guests and helping bring business to area restaurants and hotels.

Thank you to the volunteers who made Spring Fest possible.

We also want to leave you with the following quote:

"Volunteers aren't paid, not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless." (Anonymous)
