Basin high school graduations begin Friday
Air horns and mouse ears broke out all over at the completion of 2012 Moses Lake High School graduation. Graduation for the class of 2013 is Saturday.
OTHELLO - High school ends for the class of 2013 in a flurry of graduation ceremonies scheduled for Basin-area schools.
Graduation for the 163 seniors at Othello High School starts at 7 p.m. Friday at Huskie Stadium, across from the school district office, 615 East Juniper St. If it's raining the ceremony will be moved to Saturday at a time to be determined. Speakers are valedictorians Juston Lind and Brooke Roylance.
Quincy High School seniors also graduate at 7 p.m. Friday at Jaycee Stadium, across from the high school, 616 Sixth Ave. SE. Gates open for general seating at 6:30 p.m. Balloons are not allowed in the stadium. Quincy officials did not have class speakers or the number of graduates at press time.
The Moses Lake High School class of 2013, about 363 students, will graduate at noon Saturday at Lions Field, behind Frontier Middle School, 517 West Third Ave. The ceremony will be held rain or shine. Class speakers are Jacob Wills and Bryce Merkley.
The four seniors at Wilson Creek High School will graduate at 1 p.m. Saturday in the high school gym, 400 Navar St. Class speakers are valedictorian Shoshana Lutz and salutatorian Mari Alvarez.
Graduation for the Ritzville-Lind class of 2013 starts at 2 p.m. Sunday at Gilson Gym, 402 East Wellsandt Ave. Forty-five seniors will graduate. Class speakers are valedictorians Brittany Dew-Blaske and Amalia Perez, and salutatorians Ashley Ambers, Satchel Henneman and Diana Longoria.
The Ephrata class of 2013, 149 students, will graduate at 7 p.m. June 7 at Kiwanis football field, directly behind the high school, 333 Fourth Ave. NW. Class speakers will be Bryan Heer and Kristen McDonnell.
Warden High School graduation will be at 7 p.m. June 7 in the high school gym, 101 Beck Way. About 55 seniors will take the walk across the stage. Class speakers are Michell Valdivia and Abigail Richins.
Graduation at Lake Roosevelt High School will be at 1 p.m. June 8 in the high school gym, 500 Civic Way, Coulee Dam; 39 seniors will graduate. Class speakers will include valedictorian Brady Black, salutatorian Hillary Carriere and Hailey Chaney and Andrew McClure.
The 17 Soap Lake High School seniors will graduate June 8 at 2 p.m. in the high school gym, 527 Second Ave. SW. Class speakers are valedictorian Cinthia Piedra and salutatorian Aspen King.
