ROYAL CITY - Golfers of all ages and abilities are invited to have their own U.S. Open day at the Royal Golf Course on Saturday, June 15. The course will be as tough as it's ever been.

"We're going to let the rough grow, we're going to speed up the greens, we're going to put the flags in tough spots, and the tees will be all the way back," Pro Randy Puetz said.

However, these U.S. Open conditions aren't meant as punishment. They are intended for players to see and feel what the pros are going through at Merion, in Pennsylvania, the same day.

"Each hole will have a maximum score," Puetz said. "We're not going to let anybody get lost."

Men, women and juniors are invited. There will be several divisions, including a professional division. The first 60 players to sign up will be accepted for the 10 a.m. shotgun.

The entry fee will be $25 for RGC members and $30 for non-members. Carts, food and beverages will be extra. You are encouraged to reserve carts early.

For further information, call the RGC at 346-2052 or contact Puetz at 425-760-3717 or rhpuetz@hotmail.com.
