Vernon M. Holden

May 10, 2013, Vernon M. Holden, 84, with loving family at his bedside, stepped quietly from this fragile, mortal life into Life Eternal, in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born May 27, 1928, in Moscow, Idaho, to Iva and William Holden, Vernon graduated from Moscow High in 1946 and enlisted in the Air Force that year. He married Anna Day in 1948 and they had 3 children before her death in 1961. Vern retired as a master sergeant from Fairchild AFB, in 1967.

He married Gerri Reichel in December 1968, joining their families to have a family of 7 children. They made their home in Moses Lake, WA for the next 45 years, where they owned and operated Columbia Basin Stamp and Business Card out of their home until retiring in 2003.

Vern was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Anna; brother, Ralph; son, Steven; grandsons, Gabriel Benson; Hans Nelson; great grandson, Landon Benson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gerri; daughters: Tricia (Glenn) Reich; Jenny (Ed) McAllister; Teresa (Ron) Findlay; Linda (Doug) Brown; and Sherri (Don) Anderson; son, Kenneth Holden; sister Ruth (Craig) Marlette; 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial will be held Monday, May 27, 2013, at The Church in Moses Lake, 6378 Arnold Dr. N.E., at 11:00 a.m.
