Clara Frances "Rosen" Sligar

| May 23, 2013 6:00 AM

Clara Frances Sligar, 84, went home on Friday, May 17, 2013.

She was born to Ted and Frances Rosen on April 15, 1929, at Conda, Idaho. Clara started school as a 5-year-old and later moved to Gooding, Idaho where she graduated at 17 years old in 1946.

She started her bookkeeping career at the Wendell Lumber Yard. As she was leaving work one spring day, a tall, handsome soldier of World War II spotted his "Angel" (as he put it) strolling in one of her many classic suits. She didn't realize she had been tagged and the courting began with Winston E. Sligar and they married on March 23, 1949 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

From bookkeeping to wife the real story began to unfold. Her "family" started on July 22, 1950 with Charmayne Weatherford (deceased); Russell Sligar (deceased); Diane (Randy) Boruff of Ephrata, Wash.; Wanda Lan-khaar of Wenatchee, Wash.; Stanley Sligar of Kennewick, Wash.; Jolene (Audey) Kilts of Moses Lake, Wash.; Lisa (Larry) Dahlin of Umatilla, Ore.; Rebecca (Earl) Van Putten of Moses Lake, Wash.; Eric (Carry) Sligar, Fallon, Nevada; and David (Andrea) Sligar of Seattle, Wash. And the last and most precious of mom's heart were all 100+ of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren - and they're not finished yet.
