| May 22, 2013 6:00 AM

EPHRATA – The Grant County Board of Commissioners is seeking Grant County citizens who would like to serve on the Civil Service Commission.

Civil Service Commission (CSC) term is for six years. The CSC meets once a quarter or more often (between the hours of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.), if needed. CSC members serve without compensation, although they may have their expenses reimbursed.

The CSC makes rules for operation of the civil service system that are consistent with state law. It gives practical tests to determine the capacity of persons examined to perform duties of the position sought.

The CSC conducts investigations and prepare reports. It hears and determines appeals or complaints. It provides for, develops and holds competitive tests to determine relative qualifications of candidates and, as result of the testing process, prepares eligibility lists.

An application to serve on the CSC must be completed. It can be found at www.grantcountyweb.com under the “Important Announcements” heading.

For further information please contact the County Commissioners Office at 509-754-2011 ext 428. Applications will be accepted until Monday, May 27.
