2 burglary suspects arrested after airport search

MOSES LAKE - A report of a trespassing in progress led to a three-hour search for two burglary suspects at the Grant County International Airport Sunday morning.

About 5 a.m. Sunday, Grant County deputies responded to the 9500 block of Road H.4 Northeast north of the airport for two people trespassing. A neighbor noticed two suspects walking around the property with a flashlight, according to the sheriff's office on Monday.

The two suspects, identified as Randy D. Triplett, 36, of Othello, and Joshua M. Zarbok, 23, of Kennewick, allegedly fled when deputies arrived and jumped a fence onto the airport property. Airport operations were suspended while officials searched for the suspects, according to the sheriff's office.

Security personnel at Takata, General Dynamics and other businesses near the property were told the secure the facilities. The airport resumed normal operations about 8 a.m.

The three-hour search involved law enforcement officers on foot, ATV's and the use of the State Patrol's airplane, according to the sheriff's office. An off-duty deputy and private citizen also used their planes to assist with the search.

Both suspects were eventually tracked down on the airport property.

Deputies later discovered the two suspects had allegedly entered a home on Road H.4 Northeast to burglarize the home.

Triplett and Zarbok were booked into Grant County Jail on suspicion of first-degree burglary and second-degree criminal trespass. Zarbok was also charged with possession of cocaine and felon in possession of a firearm, according to jail records. Zarbok was allegedly in possession of a .22-caliber pistol.

Deputies are continuing to investigate the incident and additional charges are likely to recommended.
