Carl Martin Stolz

Carl Martin Stolz was born on July 3, 1937 in Spokane, Washington at Deaconess Hospital to Carl Albert and OraBelle (Ewing) Stolz. Carl passed away at Central Washington Hospital on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 from a brief illness.

Carl attended Eastern Washington College where he earned his degree in Education, played basketball, and participated in ROTC. Upon graduation he served as a First Lt. in the US Army. Carl was a math teacher at Chief Moses Jr. High for 30 years and coached both Jr. High and High School track. After retiring, he taught classes at Big Bend Community College and continued educating young minds through the PUD Electrical Safety program.

Carl was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. He loved working out in his orchard and spending time with family and friends. Carl was active in the Presbyterian Church where he often worked as a greeter. He was a member of the Lions Club and enjoyed serving as the President for 1 year. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Carl was preceded in death by his father Carl A Stolz. Carl is survived by his wife Jan Stolz, his Mother OraBelle Stolz, and his children Connie Powell, Kathleen Powell, Colleen Powell, Steven Stolz, Ron Swanson, Stacy Swanson, and James Swanson; and his grandchildren Nathan Powell, Trevor Powell, Bailey Stolz, Brandon Stolz, Amanda Fleming, Christopher Fleming, Mikaela Fabian, Hunter Swanson, and Alexis Swanson.

A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 3 p.m. at the Moses Lake Presbyterian Church located at 1142 W. Ivy Avenue.
