OTHELLO - Kim Bullis went four-for-four at the plate with a triple, and pitched a one-hit shutout in a 10-0 home win over Ephrata in the first round of the 2A CWAC District Softball Tournament Tuesday.

The Huskies jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the first inning of play, and then added four runs in the fourth, two in the fifth and one in the sixth to win in a cake walk.

"Kim did a great job keeping the Ephrata batters off balance. She allowed one hit, did not give up a walk or a run and finished with six strikeouts," coach Rudy Ochoa said. "But she also had some tremendous backup by second baseman Daisy Salgado who seemed to be all over the field robbing the Tigers of some base hits."

Othello heads to Selah tomorrow to take on the Vikings in round two at Carlon Park. The winner of the game qualifies for State. The loser will play for seating Thursday evening for the right to play at home against Deer Park or at Colville, in a loser out winner to state game. The Huskies finished third in the CWAC standings with a 17-3 record. The Ellensburg Bulldogs (19-1) were league champion, and Selah (18-2) placed second.
