MOSES LAKE - Basin residents met with general contractors, landscapers and other home experts from around the region this weekend during the two-day Central Washington Home Expo.

More than 50 vendors participated in the expo at the Grant County Fairgrounds Saturday and Sunday.

Duane Zamora, of Big Max Construction in Moses Lake, said the expo had a good turnout.

"It's been good, I've had a steady flow of people come by," he said.

Big Max Construction can help residents with a variety of projects, including roofing, windows, bathrooms and decks, said Zamora.

Randy French, of Sun Solutions, said he traveled from Pasco to participate in the expo. He spent the weekend demonstrating how screens from Sun Solutions could block more heat from entering a house compared to traditional screens.

Other vendors focused on services people would need when setting up their home.

Kellee Magee, of Northland Communications, said she was able to connect with a lot of homeowners. She was able to promote some of the cable company's new services, she said.

Moses Lake resident Stephanie Keith said she had a good time at the home expo. Although she isn't planning on building a home or remodeling one, she said she came with her parents who are homeowners.

"I tagged along, in case they needed help with anything," she said.

While she wasn't looking for anything in particular, Keith said she enjoyed browsing the different booths.
