Young woman survives crash

EPHRATA - A young Quincy woman was injured when her vehicle collided with a motorhome on highway 283 about 10 miles south of Ephrata on April 30.

The accident occurred at around 9:30 a.m. It left both vehicles totaled.

Neither drugs nor alcohol was a factor, the Washington State Patrol reported. And both drivers were using their seatbelts.

The injured young woman was Jessica D. Davila, 19, of Quincy. She was driving a gray 2005 Honda Accord. She was transported to Quincy hospital.

The driver of the second vehicle was Bryon J. Thorndike, 38, of Moxee. He was driving a beige 1986 Mallard motorhome towing a boat.

According to the State Patrol, the Davila vehicle was westbound on Winchester Road, approaching Highway 283. The Thorndike vehicle was southbound on Highway 283 and was struck by the Davila vehicle in the southbound lane of 283.

The cause of the accident was failure to yield the right-of-way.
