WENATCHEE - The Chiefs came oh so close to knocking off No. 1 seeded Eastmont in the first round of the district soccer tournament at the Apple Bowl in Wenatchee Tuesday.
But a late second half goal by the Wildcats, and four blocked shots by keeper Jose Gonzalez in a penalty shoot-out sent the Chiefs home with a 2-1 loss to close out their season.
It was the third time Eastmont had defeated Moses Lake this year, and the teams' fourth loss in a row.
Andrew Cameron put Moses Lake on the board first with a goal at the 36th minute of play.
The score held up until Eastmont's Joel Villa scored an unassisted goal with a minute left on the clock to tie the match 1-1 and send the contest to overtime.
