Wahluke students to clean up the town

| May 7, 2013 6:00 AM

MATTAWA - More than 400 Wahluke Junior High students will flood the streets of Mattawa on Friday, May 10, to pick up trash around the city.

The city-wide clean up will correspond with the 43rd annual Earth Day.

The event was organized by the Wahluke Junior High's ASB and Leadership Class. Leadership students will teach a short lesson on the importance of Earth Day and the town clean-up.

"The ASB and leadership class also will speak about how the Wahluke Junior High's efforts will incorporate civic duty and the responsibilities we have as citizens of Mattawa," Dean of Students Sean Langdon said. The clean-up day will be concluded with an ice cream sundae celebration.
