Central Wash. Home Expo this weekend
Construction is underway on a home in Moses Lake. The Central Washington Home Expo takes place Saturday and Sunday, which will provide Basin residents a chance to meet with contractors, landscapers and other home industry experts.
MOSES LAKE - Basin residents wanting to build a new home, or renovate an existing one, can turn to next weekend's Central Washington Home Expo for inspiration.
The expo will take place at the Grant County Fairgrounds from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday. Admission is free. Door prizes are provided by the outdoors clothing and equipment retailer Cabela's.
Joel White, of the Grant County Home Builders Association, said people will have the chance to connect with various industry members.
White said the association will have information about some of its members available for those who attend the expo. Various general contractors, plumbers, electricians and landscapers belong to the home builders association, he said.
"Whether they're looking to build a home, or renovate, we have the professionals to help them with their project," White said. "We want to get them in touch with our members."
The association is one of the event's sponsors.
White said the association got involved with the expo because it was a good way to highlight the amount of industry experts Grant County has.
"We have true professionals in the area," he said. "This is a way to promote the professional services that are available to homeowners in Grant County."
Kellee Magee, marketing manager for Northland Communications, said residents can also use the expo to connect with vendors who deal with aspects of setting up a home beyond the construction phase.
Northland provides digital cable, home phone and high-speed Internet service to residents in Grant County and the Othello area, she said. They will have a booth at the Home Expo in addition to being one of the expo's sponsors, said Magee.
"We're a provider for all those services people need when they set up a new home," she said. "So we want to use this opportunity to meet with community members."
Magee said Northland has specials they are launching this month, and their booth will highlight some of them. New and current customers should stop by the Northland booth to learn about deals and other Northland services, she said.
"We'll have demonstrations so they can learn about our equipment," said Magee. "We'll see if we can get them set up with service or get them into a better deal."
