BBCC baseball drops two
Big Bend BBCC Vikings Baseball
WALLA WALLA - The Vikings hit the road to Walla Walla Wednesday looking to put together a three-game winning streak after taking the second game of a twin bill at home against Spokane April 27, and build some momentum as the season winds down.
But the second place Wolves (15-7) proved to be an unwelcome host and sent Big Bend Community College (BBCC) home with two losses after sweeping the Vikings in doubleheader action.

The first game of the twin bill saw BBCC take a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning.
The scored held up until Walla Walla pushed two runs across the plate in the bottom of the fourth to go up top, 2-1.
Two runs in the bottom of the fifth and one in the bottom of the sixth inning stretched the Wolves lead to 5-1.
The Vikings got a run back in the top of the ninth, but couldn't get any closer and dropped the game, 5-2.
Chris Walker, Jared Stearns and Dylan Signorelli doubled in the contest. Walker and Signorelli hand one RBI each. Cody Johns went six innings on the bump, gave up nine hits and five earned runs, and was tagged with the loss for BBCC. Spencer Cordeiro pitched two innings of one-hit ball in relief.

The Vikings got off to a slow start in the second game of the twin bill, trailing 7-0 after four innings of play.
But their bats came alive in the top of the fifth as BBCC hung four runs on the board to get back in it, 7-4.
Two runs in the bottom of the frame, and four in the bottom of the sixth widened the gap to 13-4 Wolves.
Both teams brought a run home in the seventh inning to bring the tally to 14-5 Walla Walla. The Vikings added a run in the top of the ninth to make it 14-6.
BBCC had 14 hits in the contest to the Wolves 16, but five Vikings errors proved to be costly in the loss.
Jordan Higley got the start for Big Bend, but lasted only three and two-thirds innings, giving up seven runs, three of which were unearned, off eight hits, and was the losing pitcher of record.
BBCC is back on the diamond Saturday for a doubleheader at Wenatchee Valley Community College.
The Vikings host a twin bill against Columbia Basin May 8, then finish the regular season at Blue Mountain May 11.
