Drugs seized and three men arrested

QUINCY - Three Quincy men are in jail on drug charges after Grant County's Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team served two search warrants on March 14 in Quincy.

As part of a four-month-long drug trafficking investigation, the INET raided a home at 125 D Street Northeast, finding and seizing suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia. Alberto Nunez, 34, was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The INET then raided a home at 117 H Street Southeast, where more than five ounces of suspected marijuana was found and seized along with drug paraphernalia and implements of sale. A semi-automatic firearm and a small amount of prescription pills were also seized.

Armando Herrera, 22, and Toribio Hernandez, 36, were arrested and taken to the Grant County Jail on charges of possession of marijuana with the intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia. Herrera is also charged with possession of a legend drug without a prescription.

More than $4,000 in U.S. currency and a 2002 Acura were confiscated during the operations.

"With these raids comes a small reduction in dangerous drugs circulating through our communities," Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones said. "I applaud the INET and the partnering agencies which continue to do a thorough and comprehensive job stopping drug trafficking in Grant County."

The INET is comprised of officers from the Grant County Sheriff's Office, Moses Lake Police Department, Quincy Police Department and the Washington State Patrol.
