Royal Knights thump Kiona-Benton, 8-0, in soccer

ROYAL CITY - Royal High School appears to have its soccer program back on the winning track after their 8-0 thumping of Kiona-Benton on Saturday.

The South Central A Conference record now stands at 2-2.

This was Royal's first home match of the season. It started with three away matches, beating Warden, 1-0, losing at Granger, 4-1, and losing at Highland, 2-1.

"Ki-Be is better than they have been in the past, but we did well today moving the ball around and getting lots of new players an opportunity to impress," coach Jens Jensen said.

Royal's goals were scored by Cesar Bernal, Christian Guerrero, Guerrero, Luis Garcia, Guerrero, Garcia, Alex Ramos and Jose Ponce. Myrick and Luis Medina had assists.
