Ronald John Fenich

Ronald John Fenich went to be with the Lord on March 25, 2013, with his loved ones by his side. Ronald (Ron) was born on April 6, 1927, in Seattle, WA to John and Anna (Bator) Fenich and grew up in Cle Elum, WA, where he met his future wife and soul mate of 61 years, Mary Jane Bednar, whom he referred to as his 'angel' for her endless devotion and care for him.

Ron served in the US Army during 1945-47 upon graduation from Cle Elum High School and later obtained his bachelor degree in Animal Husbandry & Agriculture from Washington State College in 1952. He was employed by the Federal Land Bank, primarily based in Ephrata and Moses Lake, WA, but serving farmers throughout the state, before retiring in 1987 after 35 years of service.

Ron was an avid hunter and fisherman; skilled woods craftsman; and dog lover, all hobbies which he loved to share with his family and friends. A humble man with strong character and sense of humor, he is deeply missed by his family and friends and will never be forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his sister, Lois Ann Omundson (John), Bellevue, WA; his wife Mary Jane, at home in Spokane, WA; his children, Dianne Whitworth (Don), Maple Valley, WA; Robert (Susan), Lakeland, FL; Randall (Sue), Yakima, WA; Gregory (Parker), Tokyo, Japan; and Jennifer Burger (Everett), Spokane, WA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Monday, April 1, 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 303 West 2nd Street, Cle Elum, WA. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ron's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society's Prostate Cancer Research or to The Spokane Hospice House.
