Teruko "Teri" Mizuno Schleicher Ratcliff

Teruko "Teri" Mizuno Schleicher Ratcliff, longtime Moses Lake resident passed away in her home Wednesday morning, March 20, 2013 at the age of 83. She was born on September 5, 1929 to Obu and Kikue Yamagami Mizuno in Chiba, Japan, the third daughter of six children.

Our dear mom was a talented seamstress, fabulous cook and she loved to work in her flower and vegetable garden from which she shared the bounty with her family and friends. She also enjoyed crocheting and watching sumo.

After World War II, she met and married Huber Ray "Mike" Schleicher in Fukuoka, Japan. They had three children, Chizuko Lee, Linda and Michael. She later married Ronald Levon Ratcliff in 1977.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald in July 2010, her parents and her oldest sister Rinko Fukushima and youngest brother Yoshihiko Mizuno.

Teri is survived by her children and their spouses, Chizuko Lee and Terrance Dawson of Layton, UT, Linda and James Fragola of Richland, WA and Michael and Leslie Schleicher of Kent, WA and five grandchildren Charles Ray and Karen Dawson, Kristine Dawson, Jamie Fragola, Keiko Schleicher and Olivia Schleicher; her sisters Miyoko Yanagisawa, Mitsuko Takahashi, and brother Yoshikatsu Mizuno, all of Japan.

Teri's family would like to thank Assured Hospice for their tender, loving care and her many friends for their concerns and thoughtfulness.

A family memorial is planned for a later date.
