ML Lions Club thanks supporters

| March 22, 2013 6:00 AM

The Moses Lake Lions Club along with the Moses Lake Leo's Club would like to thank everyone who supported, donated and attended our recent Leo's Charter Night. Approximately 100 Leo's, parents, friends, Lions, Lioness and Lion officials, District Governor Willem Roell from Enderby, B.C., 1st Vice District Governor Bob Ayotte and his wife Sonia from Kelowna, B.C., Past District Governor Joe Nillis and his wife PZC Dorothy of Leavenworth came together to recognize the Chartering of the Moses Lake Leo's Club. Lions from the Quincy Lions Club, the Othello Lions Club and the Mattawa- Desert-Aire Lions Club also attended. The new Leo's Club was chartered with 24 members all from the Moses Lake community ranging in age from 12 years to 18 years.

We would like to thank all the members of the community and area businesses that contributed items to be auctioned off to raise funds for the new club. The Leo's would like to especially thank the auctioneer, Dennis Flint, who did a wonderful job along with Lion Pete Petersen for his assistance in obtaining all of the food and auction items and to the Columbia Basin Herald for their support.

A special thank-you goes to the Moses Lake Lion's Club for their sponsorship and their financial backing to get started. A big thank-you to everyone who donated the food for the Spaghetti Dinner and to Lions Mike Melbye and Carol Conley for preparing the meal.
