Lawmakers hold town hall by phone

OLYMPIA - Residents in the 13th Legislative District will have the opportunity to speak with local representatives at a telephone town hall starting at 6:30 p.m. on March 28.

Reps. Judy Warnick, R-Moses Lake, and Matt Manweller, R-Ellensburg, invite citizens to listen in and ask questions during the telephone town hall. The format will be similar to a call-in radio broadcast.

"Telephone town halls are the most effective way for us to reach out to constituents and get the most input from around our large district," Warnick said. "I look forward to talking with the folks back home and answering questions."

Warnick added it's important to stay involved in the legislature to ensure voices are heard.

"As we work through the final six weeks of the session, now is a good time to hear from constituents on issues before us, such as education reforms, transportation proposals, the budget and improving our economy," Manweller said.

People wanting to participate in the meeting over the phone can call toll-free 877-229-8493, then enter pin number 15542. The call will last about one hour.

The 105-day legislative session is scheduled to adjourn April 28.
