KENNEWICK — Kennewick police are looking for a 41-year-old male suspect who allegedly shot and killed a man early Friday morning. Kennewick Police initially reported the shooting may be related to a drive-by shooting in Othello, but now believe the two are separate incidents.

Police are looking for Grant Wayne Scantling who fled the Kennewick crime scene. Scantling is suspected of driving a Maroon 2000 Jeep Cherokee, license plate 594-XDH. Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous.

Gunshots were reported just after 7:30 a.m. in Kennewick. Police confirmed a 21-year-old male died at the scene. Scantling, who lived at the Kennewick residence, is believed to have fled north toward Othello.

An hour after the Kennewick shooting, Adams County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a drive-by shooting on South McKinney Road. One person was injured and transported to Othello Community Hospital.

According to Kennewick Police, the Othello shooting involved a vehicle of the same description Scantling was allegedly driving and fits the time frame it would take to drive from Kennewick to Othello.

There is currently no other information to connect the two incidents.
