Jennie Harriet (Bolich) Ramm

| March 21, 2013 6:00 AM

July 22, 1925 - January 4, 2013

Jennie was born and raised in Harrison, Idaho. She was the first in her family to graduate from Harrison High School. Jennie married W.C. "Bing" Ramm on December 22, 1945 in Spokane, WA and they soon moved to Soap Lake, Washington. They both loved that town dearly, and there they raised their children. Jennie helped raise her grandchildren, was active in the community, and had many dear friends there.

Jennie was an extraordinary homemaker. She baked, cooked, sewed, and gardened and created a healthy and happy home for her family and friends. No one was a stranger to the Ramm household and many were invited to partake in the bountiful gifts she provided. Jennie was a stalwart supporter of the Soap Lake Public Schools. She spent many hours volunteering there, supporting not only her own children and grandchildren but all the Soap Lake children. She was a first grade reading tutor for years. The residents at the McKay Memorial Nursing Home in Soap Lake enjoyed her services as a volunteer beautician. Jennie was also active at Faith Lutheran Church where she provided friendship and leadership for many years.

After Bing's retirement, he and Jennie spent 20 years traveling in their RV, residing over the winter in Yuma, Arizona. There they enjoyed years of travel and fun with family and friends. In June of 2006, Bing and Jennie moved to Franke Tobey Jones, a retirement facility in Tacoma, Washington to be near their daughter Carol.

Jennie was a role model and inspiration to her children, grandchildren and all who knew her. As she neared death, family and friends gathered at her bedside to join their hearts in tribute to a most remarkable woman. Jennie died in the arms of her children and grandchildren. She was loved and appreciated beyond words.

Jennie is survived by her brother Floyd and his wife Dana and families. Her late daughter Carla's husband Mario and granddaughters Jennifer (Rob) and Kristen; daughter Dena (Dick) and grandson Nathaniel; daughter Carol (Rob) and grandsons Tyler (Heather) and Jon; son Gerry and granddaughters Jessica (Kyle) and great-grandson Silas; Adrienne and Deon.

A memorial service is planned for April 20th at 2:00 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ephrata, Washington. A reception will follow.
