Clinton Edgar Chapman

Clinton Edgar Chapman, 80, of Moses Lake, WA, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, with his family at his bedside.

Clint was born February 16, 1933 in La Junta, CO to Edgar and Esther Chapman. He lived his entire childhood in the La Junta area, marrying the love of his life, Mary Louise Huffman, November 26, 1950.

After moving his bride to Washington State he worked on the canal system in the Frenchman Hills in 1951, he was transferred to Vallejo, CA to work on road construction. Clint was drafted into the US Army on April 3, 1953 and completed basic training at Fort Ord, CA. Clint deployed to Korea and served in Heavy Mortar Company 17th Infantry Regiment. He was Honorably Discharged with the rank of Corporal, March 31, 1955.

Stateside he reunited with his bride where they lived in Quincy, WA. His work transferred him to Moses Lake in 1962 where he lived out the rest of his life. While in Quincy, Clint and Mary began their family with daughter Tammy (deceased) born 1958, daughter Lori born 1962 and in Moses Lake, son Alan born 1964.

Clint was known for his dedication and work ethic. He worked at Quincy Valley Coop., Grant County Tractor, self-employed with C & M Enterprises, Busby International and the US Postal Service.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church and former member of Grant County Sherriff's Posse. He had a life-long love of nature and wildlife. Pets were always a part of his family and the bird feeder was always full.

He is survived by wife Mary Lou Chapman, children Lori (Steve) Boyd, Alan (Diana) Chapman, grandsons Dustin and Tony Boyd and siblings Bernice Siegfried (CO), Oneda Burns (CA) and Larry Chapman (TX) and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service celebrating his life is planned for Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 3:00pm, at the United Methodist Church, Ironwood Dr. in Moses Lake, WA.
