ROYAL CITY - Visitor's to the Royal City Methodist Church's annual chili feed next weekend will be treated to Alice Parker's recipe once again.

Parker was an irrigated farming pioneer on the Royal Slope and has been honored for her work on behalf of irrigation. She's also been recognized as a fine country cook.

The chili feed raises funds for improvement or maintenance projects at the church. Recent projects have included a new basement floor and a new roof.

Along with Alice's chili, visitors will be able to enjoy salad, corn bread, cake, punch and coffee. Those who wish will be able to substitute hot dogs for the chili, and chili dogs will be another option. Church members will do the serving.

The Methodist Church chili feed will be held at the Royal City Community Center at the Royal Golf Course on Saturday, March 23. Serving will start at 5 p.m. and end around 7 p.m.

"Come and visit with friends and neighbors, and enjoy a bowl of delicious chili, made by our famous chef, Alice Parker," church member Judy Janett Davis said.

There is no set price for the meal. The church accepts whatever donations visitors make.
