MOSES LAKE - The Grant County Economic Development Council banquet will provide a sneak peak of upcoming business projects.

This year's banquet will be held March 29 at the Masto Conference Center in Big Bend Community College's ATEC building. The ATEC building is located at 7662 Chanute St. NE in Moses Lake.

The banquet's social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. and dinner starts at 6:30 p.m.

EDC Executive Director Jonathan Smith said he will give a preview of some of the work the organization has planned for this year.

"We are doing a major reach out this coming year to get in front of companies that could potentially locate or grow their operations in Grant County," he said.

Smith will give a review of the economic development projects the EDC worked on in 2012. Pacific Coast Canola, ChinaSoft and Amway/Nutrilite were some of the companies that recently began operations in Grant County.

Stand up economist Yoram Bauman will give the keynote address this year. He performs regularly and has shared the stage with other performers including Robin Williams and Paul Krugman, according to an EDC release.

Smith said about 175 people are expected to attend this year's banquet so far, but there is still room for additional guests.

Banquet tickets are $60 per person, or $440 for a table of eight.
