3 Quincy men arrested in drug case

QUINCY - Three Quincy men were arrested on drug charges Thursday as part of a four-month investigation by the Grant County Interagency Narcotics Enforcement Team (INET).

INET served two search warrants at two Quincy homes, according to the Grant County Sheriff's Office.

Officers first searched a home at 125 D Street Northeast in Quincy Thursday. Officers found and seized suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia.

Alberto Nunez, 34, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Officers then searched a home at 117 H Street Southeast, where more than 5 ounces of suspected marijuana was recovered along with drug paraphernalia, according to the sheriff's office. A semi-automatic firearm and a small amount of prescription pills were also seized.

Armando Herrera, 22, and Toribio Hernandez, 36, were arrested and booked into Grant County Jail on suspicion of possession of marijuana over 40 grams with the intent to deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Herrera is also expected to be charged with possession of a legend drug without a prescription.

More than $4,000 and a 2002 Acura vehicle were confiscated during the operations.

"With these raids comes a small reduction in dangerous drugs circulating through our communities," Sheriff Tom Jones said. "I applaud INET and the partnering agencies which continue to do a thorough and comprehensive job stopping drug trafficking in Grant County."

The Quincy Police Department and Grant County Sheriff's Office assisted in the operation.

INET is comprised of officers from the Grant County Sheriff's Office, Moses Lake and Quincy police departments and the State Patrol.
