GEORGE – Two people were in a hospital and two were in jail after a double shooting here Sunday night.

Both of the victims are teens. They were treated first at Quincy Valley Medical Center and then flown to trauma centers, where their conditions were listed as serious.

Grant County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested two people in connection with the double shooting. One is a 16-year-old male.

Deputies were called at around 9:15 p.m. on Mar. 3 to 215 East Montmorency Boulevard for a shooting. According to Sheriff Tom Jones, one deputy was nearby and arrived six minutes after the call. He found two juveniles wounded by gunfire. ?

One of the victims, a male around age 16, has gunshot wounds to the torso, knee and face. The other victim, a female around 14, has a gunshot wound to the torso.

On Monday deputies and Quincy Police arrested two persons connected with the shootings. Hector M. Contreras Rodriguez, 21, of Quincy, was placed in the Grant County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder. The teen male was taken to the Grant County Youth Services Facility on suspicion of attempted murder. ?

According to Jones, witnesses saw four people, including the two victims, sitting in a car in front of the home. Another car pulled up behind them, witnesses told deputies, and at least two people got out of that car and began firing, striking two people in the first car.

The suspect vehicle then fled the scene, witnesses said. ???The George shooting is not connected to the shooting which killed a 60-year-old man near Moses Lake Saturday night, Jones said. That case remained under investigation on Tuesday, and no suspect had yet been identified. ?
