Parents in weekend shooting continue recovery

Father released from hospital

MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake father allegedly shot by his 14-year-old son over the weekend was released from an area hospital Monday.

Jonothan Brooks, 38, will stay at an undisclosed hospital with his wife, according to a statement released by the Moses Lake Christian Academy on Tuesday. The boy was an academy student.

Elizabeth Brooks, 39, of Moses Lake, remains in the hospital and medical staff is still trying to stabilize her before surgery. Their daughter is in the care of other family members.
