George teen, Moses Lake adults hurt in crash

QUINCY – A George teen and two Moses Lake adults were injured when the cars they were riding collided at Highway 28 and Adams Road, four miles east of Quincy on Feb. 25.

Neither drugs nor alcohol were involved, the Washington State Patrol said.

The injured teen was Spencer R. Bushman, 16, of George. He was driving a 1991 Ford Mustang and was employing proper safety restraints. He was taken to Quincy Valley Medical Center.

Phyllis A. Sievert, 74, of Moses Lake was the driver of the second vehicle, a 2012 Chevrolet Suburban. She was using proper restraint. She was transported to QVMC.

According to the WSP, the Bushman vehicle, northbound on Adams, was halted at a stop sign at Highway 28. However, it attempted a left turn onto 28 before the Sievert vehicle passed, and it was struck by the Sievert vehicle, eastbound on 28.

According to the WSP, charges of failure to yield right of way were pending against Bushman.

A passenger injured in the Sievert car was David Vining, 81, of Moses Lake. He was not properly restrained, the WSP said. He was taken to the QVMC.
