Robin "Rob" Salinas

| March 9, 2013 5:00 AM

Rob was born April 18, 1967 in Bellevue Washington and left this world to move onto the next on March 2, 2013 at his sister and brother-in-law's home in Moses Lake surrounded by family.

Rob was fun loving - always joking and laughing, always making others laugh. Never blessed with children of his own, he doted on his niece, nephews and especially the grandnephews. He always bought them "the best presents ever" for Birthdays and Christmas.

A huge man, his uncharacteristic quiet and kindness around people he didn't know, warmed their hearts to him quickly. Two of his closest friends, Tim and TJ will continue to share stories of their experiences and fun they had together for years to come. He cherished their friendships. When football season arrived, he and Tim would spend the day watching the game having great fun together.

Very strong and determined, Rob worked right up until his hospitalization much to the amazement of his health care providers. He enjoyed his job at Motel 6 mostly because of his coworkers Nicole and Teri who visited with him near the end bringing him magazines and flowers. He loved the crossword puzzles more than the magazine content itself.

Rob spent his early adulthood years in various areas of Washington but found his way home in the early 90's. Most of his life was spent living with family and anjoying the noise of children playing and being an integral part of their lives.

Rob was preceded in death by his brother John, mother Myrle Ruth, father David Tony, beautiful grandniece Rhiannon and grandnephew Darian. He is survived by his sister Deborah, her husband Vic and their children Dulcye, Zach and Sarah. Sister Bonnie, brother Eric his wife Jenny and their children David, Mitchell and Mariah. Sister April and brother-in-law Doug and their children, Desi and her husband Judd, their children John, Steven, Seth, Brendan and Beau, nephew Dustin and his children Ashwani, Brittnee, Tristan, and Athena, nephew Tyler, his significant other Brittany and their son Ethan, nephew Corey and his children Dayton, Kailee, Emma and Jayden, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Rob had two last wishes - one was to die at home with his family around him and the 2nd was not to have funeral services as he could not bear the thought of people "crying over" his body. He knew he would not live to see his birthday so we as family and friends will have a party to remember him by and say goodbye that way, around the time of his birthday.

Final arrangements are being performed by Pioneer Memorial services and the family wishes to thank Sue Freeman for her genuine kindness and caring she has shown our family.

Many thanks to the Assured Hospice staff who assisted us in a comfortable passing for Rob.

Rob's favorite place was a seat on the porch where he watched the children play, watched the world and appreciated the beauty of the flowers in the yard. As spring approaches - we know he'll be there still - waiting for the first blooms of spring. We love you Rob.
