State testing about to get under way

ROYAL CITY - High School Proficiency Exam testing will be held at Royal High School from March 12-14.

This testing program, designed to apprise the state of each student's progress, is for all sophomores, plus juniors and seniors who have not passed the testing. The testing period will be from 8:24-1:02 each day.

There will be a late start, at 11:06, for non-testing students. But buses will run at the regular time.

The middle school and Red Rock Elementary will be on their regular schedule. The high school will be open at the regular time, and non-testing teachers will be available to non-testing students.

This testing period will cover writing and reading. According to Royal School District's Rich Gregoire, math and science testing will come in late spring.

Writing will be tested on Tuesday, March 12, and Wednesday, March 13. Reading will be tested on Thursday, March 14.
