Reader acknowledges passing of elders

| March 8, 2013 5:00 AM

A recent memorial service confirms that time marches on and underscores the loss of so many long-time residents and area pioneers in recent years. All our lives have been enriched by the efforts, sacrifice and service by those who came before us and contributed so much to this area.

Now with the acknowledgement that Warren Edward Greeley has gone on to meet his Maker and to extend his 70-year honeymoon with Ethylmarie to eternity, some words come to mind: faith, commitment, devotion, charity, honor, duty, service, prim, proper, dapper, playful, mischievous, ornery, opinionated, cantankerous, fair, fun, philanthropy, but first of all was faith.

We lose much with the passing of each of our pioneer elders. But we couldn't do better than to imitate the example of a life well lived by most of them.

At 92 and 99, Ethylmarie and Warren Greeley lived long and full lives, and we are lucky to have known them.
