Lidia Cavazos Castillo

Lidia Cavazos Castillo, 87, long time Moses Lake resident passed away at her home surrounded by all of her children and family, on Tuesday February 26, 2013. She was born on July 16, 1925 in Portland TX to Antonia and Jose Cavazos.

During her early years she lived in South Texas where on April 19, 1944 she dedicated her life to God and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witness. She married Modesto Morales Castillo in August of 1945 and together they raised 7 children, 5 boys and 2 girls.

The family moved to Eastern Washington in 1968 where she was an active member of the local Spanish Congregation of Jehovah's Witness until her death. She will be affectionately remembered for her firm faith in Jehovah God, a faith that she instilled in all of her children; a precious spiritual inheritance.

She is survived by her husband, Modesto Castillo, her sons, Saul & Maria Castillo of Quincy WA, Jose Angel & Mary Jane Castillo of Moses Lake WA, Modesto Castillo Jr. of Moses Lake WA, Noe & Norma Castillo of Pasco WA, Mario & Emma Castillo of Richland WA, and her daughters, Noelia & Jesus Yanez of Moses Lake WA, Alma Rosa & Arnold Garcia of Pasco WA, 21 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, four brothers and three sisters.

A memorial service will be held on March 9, 2013 at 5:30 p.m. at Lake Inn on Marina Drive.
