Well-Known Marine Service

Rodney D. Brownlee went to our Lord on February 17, 2013 in Wenatchee Washington at the age of 66 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on January 4, 1947 in Renton, Washington. He was raised and attended schools in Kent, Washington. After high school he joined the Navy and served two tours of duty on the hospital ship Repose off the coast of Vietnam.

Rod's passion for fast cars, drag boats and mechanics proved to be his calling for his future work and pleasure. He moved to the Moses Lake-Othello area to start his marine repair and service business near the Mar Don Resort on the Potholes Reservoir. Fabrication of drag boats and vintage cars was also one of his specialties.

Rod was preceded in death by his mother Lorraine Brownlee of Soap Lake, Washington. He is survived by his father and step-mother David and Marcella Brownlee of Soap Lake, Wa., his sister Bonnie (Larry) Middleton of Lincoln, Wa., step-sister Laura (Dale) Roecks of Othello, Wa., two nieces Dawn (Middleton) Tingvall of Ravensdale, Wa., and Leanne (Middleton) Mitchell of Lake Worth, Fl., Rod considered all of his special friends around the MarDon Resort area and all others beyond the Potholes Reservoir as his extended family.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 9 at 3:00 p.m. at the O'Sullivan Sportsman Resort, 6897 Highway 262 S.E., Othello, Wa.
