| March 4, 2013 5:34 AM

GEORGE, Wash.- Grant County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested two people in connection with a double shooting which happened Sunday night in George.

Around 9:15 p.m. Mar. 3, deputies were called to 215 East Montmorency Boulevard for a shooting. One deputy was nearby and arrived six minutes after the call. He found two juveniles wounded by gunfire.

One of the victims, a male around age 16, has gunshot wounds to the torso, knee and face. The other victim, a female around 14, has a gunshot wound to the torso. Both victims were transported to Quincy Valley Medical Center, and later flown by helicopter to trauma centers. They are both in serious condition.

Earlier today, deputies and Quincy Police arrested two persons connected with the shooting:

• Hector M. Contreras Rodriguez, 21 of Quincy, is lodged in the Grant County Jail on suspicion of attempted murder.

• a 16-year-old male is lodged in the Grant County Youth Services Facility on suspicion of attempted murder.

According to witnesses, four people including the two victims were sitting in a car in front of the home. Another car pulled up behind them, at least two people got out of that car and began firing, striking two people in the first car. The suspect vehicle fled the scene.

“Deputies, detectives, the Washington State Patrol and Quincy Police did a great job working this case and finding two people who we believe are responsible,” said Sheriff Tom Jones. “It is very important to emphasize no area schools are in lockdown due to this incident.”

The George shooting is not connected to the shooting which killed a 60-year-old man near Moses Lake Saturday night. That case remains under investigation and no suspect has yet been identified.
