Jesus A. Soltero

Jesus A. Soltero, 70, longtime Moses Lake resident, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 1, 2013 at Kayser's Chapel of Memories. Jesus was born November 28, 1942 in Chihuahua, Mexico, son of the late Richard and Mary (Alvarado) Soltero. He was raised and educated in Mexico and moved to the States in 1970, settling in the Columbia Basin. He was married to Dolores Alvarado on August 9, 1982 in Ephrata and they had made their home in Moses Lake since. He had worked for Carnation for 18 years, retiring in 2004. Jesus loved anything to do with the out of doors and especially enjoyed working on cars and fishing. He was a member of the Teamsters Union.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dolores Soltero of Moses Lake; one daughter, Lilly Rosa, Mexico; one son, Rafael Soltero, Mexico; one step son and daughter-in-law, Juan and Alexandra "Alex" Velez, Moses Lake; two step-daughters, Susan Velez, North Carolina and Dolores Hernandez, Houston, TX; five sisters, Maryellen Romero, Gloria Bejarano, Cuca Gomez and Olga Letica, all of New Mexico and Mary Pando of Moses Lake; two grandchildren, Steffen and Vanessa Velez of Moses Lake.

Jesus was preceded in death by a son, Jesus "Jesse" Soltero and step-son, Tony Velez.
