COLUMBIA BASIN — In celebration of Dairy Month, two babies from Moses Lake and Othello received gift baskets.

The baskets were provided by the Mid-Columbia Dairy Women of Adams, Franklin and Grant Counties, and 2012-2013 Mid-Columbia Dairy Ambassador Olivia Zurcher.

Born early June 1 at Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake, first June baby Amree Caballero and her family received the dairy-themed baby basket from Zurcher and her mother, Heather Zurcher, president of the local Dairy Women.

The group also delivered a basket to the first June baby at Othello Memorial Hospital in Othello. The baby’s name wasn’t provided.

The baskets are a new tradition the women look forward to and gather goodies for all year, said Heather.
