MOSES LAKE - A Moses Lake man was arrested after running from police and breaking into a home, barricading himself inside early Monday morning.

According to police reports, officers contacted two suspicious subjects in a vehicle in the 600 block of Hawthorne Drive in Moses Lake just after 2 a.m. Monday. Both subjects were wanted on outstanding warrants. The driver of the vehicle, Michael J. Rocha, 27, of Moses Lake, was detained and arrested on an outstanding warrant.

The passenger in the vehicle, Eddie Hernandez, 21, allegedly fled from officers, and ran into a residence in the 500 block of Hawthorne, barricading himself inside, according to reports. The homeowner was able to exit the home, leaving only the suspect inside.

The Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response Team was called in to assist apprehending Hernandez.

Officers were able to get Hernandez to come to the front door, when the response team entered and detained him, according to Capt. Dave Sands.

Hernandez was arrested on charges of residential burglary and a warrant for second-degree assault and booked into Grant County Jail.
