The Port of Mattawa has applied for a State Waste Discharge Permit (SWDP) in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 90.48 Revised Code of Washington (RCW), Chapter 173-216 Washington Administrative Code (WAC).
The Port of Mattawa presently owns and operates an industrial treatment facility that collects, treats and land applies food processing wastewater to ground. The facility is designed for an average monthly flow of 1,449,802 gallons per day (gpd) and a maximum daily flow of 2,162,689 gpd. The wastewater, following treatment, must meet the requirements of the Washington State Water Pollution Control Act and applicable regulations for a permit to be issued.
The Department of Ecology is proposing to issue the permit and is hereby issuing public notice of its intent. Interested persons are invited to submit their name, address, and comments regarding this permit to:
