Reader takes Sonico eviction personally

| June 14, 2013 6:00 AM

So! The Port of Moses Lake wants to put the 50 good people at Sonico out of work and offer no reasonable explanation for there actions, huh? Well then commissioners of the Port, let the war begin!

You have just made this very personal and now I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure none of you are re-elected. You run around boasting to the community about this new company your bringing in here, but fail to tell the public the truth. You are leasing Aerotech a building that Sonico offered you more money for, so they could grow, and you flat turned them down. Now you're kicking Sonico out of a building that they have been in for over 30 years, and don't even have the common decency to give them adequate time to vacate so they can avoid layoffs or shutting down permanently!

You claim the building is unsafe, but it was determined over 12 years ago to be so, So, why is it now all the sudden an immediate concern? The Port has treated Sonico with contempt for several years, Sonico has tryed to lease or buy property so they could not only stay in business but expand and grow creating more jobs for our community, and you have fought them all the way!

So, why don't you no common sense politicions offer not only Sonico but this community an explanation for trying to put this great community employer, out of buisness. You are elected officials who are supposed to be serving the people of this community, not picking and choosing who you like and don't like to lease your boys club to.

Sonico has been a valuable community member for over 30 years! You have run off many prospective businesses over the years! Shape up!
