Meth found in car connected to stolen ID

EPHRATA - Moses Lake police found methamphetamine in a vehicle associated with stolen checks and identification.

Marla A. Duplichan, 45, was charged with possession of methamphetamine in Grant County Superior court recently.

The charges stem from an incident in December 2012. Moses Lake police were searching for a gold Pontiac Firebird that was connected to a case involving stolen checks and identification.

According to the police report, the officer observed the vehicle parked outside of a Chestnut Street home.

Police searched the license plate and confirmed the vehicle was registered to the man suspected of stealing checks and identification.

Police contacted a man inside the home's garage who stated the vehicle belonged to Duplichan.

According to court documents, police contacted Duplichan at the residence and questioned her about the vehicle.

The officer reportedly showed her multiple pictures of the suspect, but she didn't recognize him.

She was then asked if her vehicle could be searched and she agreed to the search and signed a consent form.

According to the police report, the officer found a red purse that contained a glass smoking device with white residue wrapped in a towel as well as a glass vial with tan liquid.

Police also found a plastic bag with green residue as well as another glass smoking device.

Duplichan reportedly admitted that the drug paraphernalia was hers and she had been using methamphetamine for about a year.

No stolen checks or identification was found inside the vehicle, according to court documents.
