Truck driver hurt in rollover

ROYAL CITY – A man from Surrey, B.C. Was injured on May 25 when the long-haul rig he was driving rolled about 10 miles east of Royal City and stopped all traffic on Highway 26.

The rollover occurred just after midnight when the truck left the roadway to the right and the driver overcorrected to the left. The truck came to on its side.

Acording to the Washington State Patrol, the wreck was influenced by drugs or alcohol. The driver was Dhanwant S. Brar, 29, of Surrey.

Brar was wearing a safety restraint, but he was injured and required transport to Othello Community Hospital.

The 2008 Freightliner with trailer, which was totaled, was removed by Davis Towing of Schawana.
