Desert Oasis Tournament a big success

MOSES LAKE - A full field of 124 golfers hit the links for the two-day Desert Oasis Women's Golf Tournament at the Moses Lake Golf and Country Club held June 7 and 8.

Organizer Loretta Legault said the event came off without a hitch.

"We had a very successful tournament," she said. "The weather couldn't have been better. The food from the Pillar Rock Grill was excellent, and everyone had a good time and wants to return next year. We want to thank the community for all of the donations and gifts that helped us raise money for New Hope."

New Hope is a domestic violence and sexual assault service that provides safe housing, counseling and empowerment for victims in Grant and Adams counties.

Grand Champions winners of the tournament were Chips Hulett who turned in the low net (138), and Tammy Liebert (161), the low gross. Both are members of the Three Lake Golf Course in Wenatchee.
