MOSES LAKE - A Moses Lake man suffered non-life-threatening injuries after he collided with a passenger car and was thrown from his motorcycle near Moses Lake.

Manuel Vela, 50, was riding a 2006 Honda motorcycle north on Stratford Road about 7:20 a.m. Thursday. A 2002 Suzuki Aero, driven by Cecilia Morris, 21, of Moses Lake, was sitting at a stop sign on Road 7 Northeast. Morris allegedly turned into the path of Vela's motorcycle and the two vehicles collided in the intersection, according to a prepared statement from the Grant County Sheriff's Office.

Vela was thrown from his bike, landing in the southbound lane of Stratford Road. He reportedly suffered a dislocated shoulder and a broken leg in the collision. Vela was transported by ambulance to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake for treatment, according to the sheriff's office. The other driver was uninjured.

Vela was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Traffic on Stratford Road was delayed for about 40 minutes while emergency responders cleared the scene, the sheriff's office said. This is the second motorcycle collision since Tuesday night.
