| June 5, 2013 6:00 AM

Geraldine Rose Pierce Armstrong Forest, 86, passed sweetly into the hands of our Lord on May 26th. Our kind and gentle wife, mom, grandmother and special friend is now peacefully resting in the hands of angels. Geraldine, Gean, to those who knew and loved her, was born on December 29, 1926 in Aberdeen, WA. She move to Lacrosse, WA and graduated from Lacrosse High School. Gean married Mick Armstrong (deceased), they moved to Spokane and had two children, Monty and Marty. She started her career at Lacross Grain Growers, and after moving to the Columbia Basin in 1958, she worked for the Bureau of Reclamation, Royal City School District, Western Farmers (first woman manager), and Cenex. In 1991, she married Stanley Forest. Because Gean was born and raised in Washington her whole life, Stan decided to take his bride to places she had never seen. . They purchased an RV and started traveling. They traveled north to south, east to west and visited nearly every state in the US including Hawaii and Alaska. They also took a trip to the Caribbean islands of St. Thomas, St. Maartin, and the Bahamas. Gean was a kind and gracious lady, always smiling and even laughing at Stan's bad jokes. She will be deeply missed by everyone who came to know her. She is survived by her soul mate, Stan, sons Monty (Patty) and Marty (Joyce) Armstrong, three brothers: Ruel (Bud) Pierce(WA), Arden Pierce, (WA), Lowell (Skip) Pickett (CA), one sister: Sarah Anne Leckenby (UT), four step-children: John Forest, Linda Forest(Gary Greenleaf), Doug Forest, and Cindy Forest Elder (Mark), eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
