Wahluke Senior week started yesterday

MATTAWA - Senior week, which started yesterday for Wahluke High School, should be the most exciting week of high school for graduating seniors.

Senior week launched on Monday with checkout. Today the prospective graduates are on their senior trip to Triple Play in Idaho, and tomorrow there will be no school.

Thursday the seniors will get down to the business of graduation. They will have their senior breakfast and awards from 6-8 a.m. They will have a graduation rehearsal at 9:30.

Senior week will end with graduation at 6 p.m. in the Wahluke High School gym on Saturday, June 8.

Graduation guests may want to arrive early. There will be no reserved seating. according to principal Jeff Pietla.

"However, if you have an elderly or handicapped person in your party, please call the school and we will hold a seat for that person and one other," Pietla said.

"Graduation is a very special time for families and for the school community," Pietla added. "If you have any concerns about any of the events or timelines, please feel free to call us."
