It's going to be a busy weekend for me. Friday the Bob Feil Boats and Motors Boat Show begins at Hooked on Toys, and continues through the weekend. They will have a variety of boats on display and folks from their dealership to ask questions. I will be there with the new Kingfisher 2025 Discovery that I am driving this year, and will be glad to walk you through it. I will be there on Friday, but won't be there until late Saturday afternoon, as the annual Kids Fish In Day will be taking place at the National Fish Hatchery in Leavenworth. I want to remind families to register so they can come up and enjoy the fun. You can pick you fishing time by going to my web site and clicking on the Pepsi logo and following the links to the registration form. There are lots of hungry trout to catch in the raceways at the hatchery, and there will be lots of volunteers there to help the kids get their fish. I will be back to the Boat Show on Sunday. I hope you find time to come down and visit with me sometime over the weekend.

If you have been following my broadcast reports and columns you will know that I have had a couple of disappointing trips to Moses Lake for walleye. Well, I just couldn't give up, and went again this past Wednesday. The forecast was for the nasty weather I wanted so I met Brian Nielson and Brian James at Connelly Park and we headed out on the lake in the pouring rain. I got one fish while I was letting my line out the first time, and although we had some long intervals between catches, we got fish throughout the morning almost every place we went. It was mid afternoon when the bite really tuned on and we quit when we ran out of worms. We had eight walleye in the box when we headed in. Seven of them were almost identical 14-inchers, and Brian James got one that was 19 inches. We got our fish trolling with bottom bouncers and spinners. We got a couple of fish on a gold blade, but the hot lure was a fire tiger pattern blade. One time, after landing a fish and turning for another pass, found three of our baits bit in half. It isn't over yet at Moses Lake.
