WHITTIER, Calif. - After an explosive win to open the tournament the Columbia basin River Sharks lost four out of their next six games at the babe Ruth 12U Bronco League Zone tournament in Whittier, Calif.

The River Sharks were able to blow out the Maricopa Sharpshooters in their first game of the tournament, 32-0.

The team totaled 22 hits and scored an astonishing 20 runs in the third inning. The game ended after five innings.

The team struggled against clubs from California losing their next two games to teams from Vacaville and Bakersfield 1308 and 10-0, respectively.

Offense returned in a big way for the River Sharks in their second game against the Sharpshooters. The team was able to score ten runs in the fifth inning to put the second game away and secure their second victory of the trip, 19-3.

The River Sharks followed their win against the Sharpshooters by downing the team from Whittier, 4-1.

The game was close throughout, but the River Sharks capitalized on four errors by Whittier and pushed across 2 runs in the sixth inning to build their lead and hold on for the victory.

However, the team couldn't capitalize on the momentum of their back-to-back wins and lost their next two contests.

The River Sharks played Whittier two more times and dropped both games 10-0 and 7-0 to end their trip.
