Benton Franklin fair entries due

KENNEWICK - Entry forms for the Benton Franklin Fair are due Aug. 1, and all entry forms must be submitted online this year at www.bentonfranklinfair.com.

If you don't have a computer or you need help, the fair office is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Mon-Fri.

The Benton Franklin Fair had 1,583 participants, who exhibited 10,333 items, last year. Items grown, raised or made by community members are welcome.

Just about any item, from guinea pigs to scarecrows to giant pumpkins to hay bales to Lego displays may be exhibited. The entry fee is $10 per person for unlimited exhibits.

Cash prizes of more than $43,000 were paid to fair exhibitors last year.

Livestock entries were due July 15 but can still be entered, subject to a late fee. Entries are also being accepted for the Grand Parade, Demolition Derby, BBQ Cook-Off, Rodeo 5k Fun Run, Cowgirl College, Tattoo and Mustache contests.
